Care and Cleaning
How do I clean Dri-Dek?
Three approved methods: (1) Roll the tiles back and sweep or rinse drained dirt out from underneath. (2) Hose off the surface, or scrub with a brush and mild detergent and rinse. (3) For high-use or barefoot environments, use a 2,000-3,000 PSI pressure washer on both the top and bottom surfaces to remove organic build-up. Cleaning frequency depends on usage; proper maintenance extends the useful life of the surface.
Can I put Dri-Dek in the dishwasher?
No. Do NOT clean Dri-Dek in a dishwasher. The heat from a dishwasher cycle can warp or deform the flexible vinyl and damage the interlocking pins and tabs. Clean Dri-Dek by hosing it down, scrubbing with detergent, or pressure-washing — but not in a dishwasher, clothes washer, dryer, or industrial washer.
Does Dri-Dek absorb odors or smells?
No. The smooth non-porous vinyl surface absorbs no odors — not pet urine, food spills, smoke, or mildew. Standard cleaning (hose, brush + detergent, or pressure wash) removes whatever has been on the surface. Combined with the anti-microbial additives in the vinyl, Dri-Dek stays fresh in high-traffic and high-moisture environments.
Can I paint Dri-Dek?
Yes. Use a paint compatible with vinyl/PVC surfaces — most exterior latex paints labeled for use on vinyl will work.
