Use Cases

Is Dri-Dek suitable for outdoor use?

Yes. Dri-Dek is designed for outdoor applications with UV stabilizers that prevent fading and degradation. It's widely used on patios, pool decks, balconies, boat decks, and outdoor walkways.

Can I use Dri-Dek in showers and wet areas?

Absolutely. The self-draining design lifts you above standing water, and the anti-slip textured surface provides positive footing even when wet. It's ideal for residential and commercial showers, locker rooms, sauna floors, pool decks, dressing areas, and any wet floor environment. The anti-microbial vinyl resists mold and mildew growth.

Is Dri-Dek pet-friendly and safe for kennels?

Yes. Dri-Dek provides a comfortable, elevated, easy-to-clean surface for kennels, veterinary facilities, dog runs, and pet play areas. The flow-through design drains liquids and circulates air to keep the surface dry. The anti-microbial vinyl inhibits bacteria and odor build-up. Over 5,000 veterinarians worldwide use Dri-Dek.

Will my pet chew through Dri-Dek?

Most pets are fine on Dri-Dek and don't damage the tiles. It's widely used in kennels and by over 5,000 veterinarians worldwide. Determined chewers (puppies, dogs with separation anxiety) can damage anything chewable, so a chewing-prone pet may go through tiles, but typical pet use is well-supported.

Does Dri-Dek work as anti-fatigue matting?

Yes. Each tile has 289 shock-absorbing, flexible legs that cushion your feet from concrete or hard surfaces underneath. The 9/16" thickness and flexible vinyl reduce fatigue during long stand-up shifts. It's used at workstations, behind bars, in labs, in commercial kitchens, and at retail counters.

Can I use Dri-Dek in a marine environment?

Yes. Dri-Dek is widely used on boats — deck surfaces, anchor lockers, gear compartments, under cushions and bedding, in cockpits, and in engine rooms. It resists saltwater and chemicals, drains water immediately, and provides positive footing. The flow-through design keeps stowed gear dry and free from mildew.

Can I use Dri-Dek as a pickup truck bed liner?

Yes. Dri-Dek 1x1 interlocking tiles work as a drop-in truck bed liner. The tiles snap together to cover the bed floor, protect the paint, cushion cargo, and let water, dirt, sand, and debris drain through. They cut easily with a utility knife to fit around wheel wells and the tailgate. The Edge piece along the tailgate provides a smooth ramp for loading. Contact us for the exact tile count for your specific make, model, and bed length.

Can I park my car or truck on Dri-Dek in my garage?

No. Dri-Dek is excellent for garage walking surfaces, storage areas, around tool benches, under lawn equipment, and as anti-fatigue matting — but it is NOT recommended as a drive-on or parking surface. Concentrated pressure from tires can damage the pins and tabs over time. Foot traffic, rolling tool carts, storage bins, and shelving are all fine. Truck BED use (inside the cargo bed, not driven on) is a separate, supported application.

Can I park a forklift on Dri-Dek?

No. Same rule as cars and trucks — do not park a forklift on Dri-Dek. Walking, standing, and light foot/cart traffic are fine. Concentrated wheel loads from a parked forklift can damage the interlocking pins and tabs.

Is Dri-Dek food safe?

Yes. Dri-Dek is appropriate for food-prep adjacent areas, food-service kitchens, beverage service, bar mats, and similar applications.

Can I use Dri-Dek under or around a hot tub or spa?

Yes. The self-draining design handles splashed water well, and the temperature range tolerates spa-area conditions.
